You can't take someone's life if
they have a difference in opinion. In Bangladesh, you are never free to give a
different opinion whether it is religion or politics. You literally have to
follow the same God they follow, at the same time you must follow the same
political philosophy others follow. You can't tell your opinion. Not to
society, not even to your family. If you don't go with the flow, they will
kill, attack and expel you from the country. In Bangladeshi law, nobody is
allowed to talk against the prophet of Islam and the father of the nation. If
you do so, you will be arrested.
This week, someone was killed to
post his opinion against the ruling party. I am not at all surprised. Every day
in the same Bangladesh people is getting attacked, killed only to talk against
these people's favourite God/religion. I shouldn't say this but I can't keep my
mouth shut, now whoever sharing this news the most are those who found him as a
part of their own, as the boy was religious, the religious-minded people spreading
it most.
However, if it was someone with a
secular mindset, the secular group would spread the news more. Think about the
boy, he was really concerned about what was happening with Muslim in India.
Honestly speaking, he was feeling sad for his Muslim brothers and sisters. I am
doubtful he'd do it for the entire humanity, supposedly the other religion. I
don't this most Bengali can do that, they would certainly support what their
personal philosophy supports.
So, as long as we don't grow to
be humans as a nation, there will someone will be killed every second. It's
high time for us to accept different opinions. As a country Bangladesh is
getting economically dependent day by day, people are getting access to
education, the internet, global world but if we look at Bengali mentality, it
didn't change. Everyone is for their personal interest. People spreading news
are not doing it because one life is gone, they are not someone who is
supporting him. Rather, these people are doing it for their own cause, they are
standing to establish their own philosophy. It's more like supporting their own
philosophy than to talk for the boy.
I am so much familiar with Bengali
mentality! Especially when I opened Facebook this morning, everyone who is
extremely religious went violent, not because the death hurt them, it's because
he was religious and deep down supported the same political philosophy. I feel
sorry for Bengali mentality. As long as we aren't open to accept other
philosophy, the difference in opinion, attacking others for their difference of
politics, religion, sexual preference, race and gender, there will always be
someone to lose a life.
